Jermaine Defoe Out For 6 Weeks

Injury blow for Defoe

Spurs striker Jermaine Defoe has been ruled out for up to six weeks following the injury he suffered in England’s Euro qualifier win over Switzerland on Tuesday.

Defoe who scored a hat-rick in the 4-0 win over Bulgaria last week looked impressive in Basel before falling and being stretched off just minuted before England’s second goal

The news is a big blow for Tottenham who have also lost Michael Dawson due to injury.

Defoe will now miss England’s next Euro 2012 qualifier next month.

Update: Defoe is ruled out for up to three months after undergoing ankle surgery to repair ligament damage.
