Wayne Rooney is included in Tuesday nights Euro qualifier despite media allegations of infidelity
England Manager Fabio Capello has insisted that Rooney will be included in England’s next game, stating that there should be a focus on the game rather than a focus on the footballer’s private life.
Discussing his fitness at a press conference last night, he said:
“Yes, he will play and I spoke with him and I monitored him during the two days after the game against Bulgaria and he was really, really good on the pitch.
“He will be in a good situation tomorrow and I hope the performance of Rooney tomorrow will be the same as Wembley.”
After having a less than ideal World Cup, Rooney played a key role in Saturdays 4.0 win over Bulgaria. However, he quickly came under fire following Sunday paper allegations concerning his private life, which in turn caused much speculation on whether or not he would be fit to play for Tuesday night’s qualifier against Switzerland.
