The long awaited ticket registration for next year’s Olympics have begun today and within just a few hours there was already problems.
Only VISA holders can access the 6.6m ticket sales which runs until the end of April and customers whose cards expired before the end of August were getting rejected from submitting their applications.
A spokesman for the Games explained that it was a situation with the card company and that it was ‘being sorted’.
He said: “What Visa is now trying to do is move that date slightly so those that expire in July will also be able to apply. We had to have a cut off date when the card would be valid.
